Professional Relations Committee Description
The Professional Relations committee plans, leads, organizes, and controls the development of relationships with allied professional groups in the community. The Professional Relations committee is responsible for finding and maintaining professional liaisons for the benefit of the Chapter. This committee works closely with the following allied organizations – the Central Arizona Estate Planning Council, Arizona Society of CPA’s, Phoenix CFA Society, Planned Giving Roundtable of Arizona, etc. to identify partnering opportunities to promote financial literacy and financial planning.
2015 Committee Goals
· Attend at least one board meeting of EPC, SCPA, and CFAS to gather information and share the visions of both groups with each other. Work with the Public Relations committee to introduce FPA as the premier source of Financial Planning professional development.
· Create a committee of diverse financial professionals (at least one attorney and one accountant) by June to get the buy-in of respected professionals in other and to have a spokesperson in each of the other related financial fields that see, understand, and share the vision of FPA.
· Combine for at least one joint meeting with each peer group to create relationships with financial professionals in other areas. Work with the Lifelong Learning/Ethics committee to showcase FPA as the premier source of Financial Planning development and continuing education.
· Share at least one article between each peer group in each other’s publications to make the FPA more visible in other financial professions. Works with the Public Relations committee to present FPA as a source of competent Financial Planning Professionals.
