They are teaming with the FPA of Greater Phoenix, inviting all of our interested chapter members and allied professional contacts to attend a hosted luncheon on Jun 15th with Officer Karen Stegenga, Crime Prevention Officer with the Mesa Police Department.
We know that our demographics, geography, and climate uniquely make Arizona home to a rapidly expanding community of Elders. Our professional financial community, especially those accustomed to acting in a fiduciary capacity, can play a critical role in identifying troublesome and persistent situations frequently connected to Elder Abuse and Financial Exploitation.
Karen will lead a discussion including an understanding of the vulnerability of older adults, financial exploitation statistics and typical forms of exploitation, recognizing the signs of exploitation and obstacles to investigation and prosecution, and potential solutions and resources when exploitation may be present.
1 hour of continuing education for CFP(R) professionals has been approved.
